Part Views

Standard Part ViewsYou can display your part or assembly in one of many standard or user aligned views. Each is described in the table below. Some of these commands are available from the Toolbar while others are selected from the View Menu. These commands are not logged as undo/redo events.
 
 
 

Auxiliary View (Ctrl+U)

Auxiliary View (Ctrl+U)Displays the default auxiliary view.
 
 

Isometric View (Ctrl+I)

Invoked By:View > Standard Views
Invoked By:Toolbar (Ctrl+I)

Isometric View (Ctrl+I)Displays a view of the part that is isometric. It is recommended that you use the Auxiliary View while in shaded display mode to enhance color contrast.
 
 
 

Top View (Ctrl+Up Arrow)

Invoked By:Toolbar (Ctrl+Up Arrow)

Top View (Ctrl+Up Arrow)Displays a view that is parallel to the top of the part looking in the direction of the negative world Z axis.
 
 
 

Front View (Ctrl+Down Arrow)

Invoked By:Toolbar (Ctrl+Down Arrow)

Front View (Ctrl+Down Arrow)Displays a view that is parallel to the front of the part looking in the direction of the positive world Y axis.
 
 
 

Right View (Ctrl+Right Arrow)

Right View (Ctrl+Right Arrow)Displays a view that is parallel to the right side of the part looking in the direction of the negative world X axis.
 
 
 

Bottom View

Bottom ViewDisplays a view that is parallel to the bottom of the part looking in the direction of the positive world Z axis.
 
 

Left View

Invoked By:View > Standard Views
Invoked By:Toolbar

Left ViewDisplays a view that is parallel to the left side of the part looking in the direction of the positive world X axis.
 
 

Back View

Invoked By:View > Standard Views

Back ViewDisplays a view that is parallel to the back of the part looking in the direction of the negative world Y axis.
 
 

Align View with Plane

Invoked By:View > Standard Views

Align View with Plane
Align View with Plane
Displays a view aligned with a datum plane or planar face. This command is similar to the Sketch Plane View command (see below) but allows you to select the datum plane to align with. You can apply this command to the active part or to another component in an assembly or sub-assembly.
 

 

Align View with Direction

Invoked By:View > Standard Views
Invoked By:Toolbar

Displays a view aligned with a reference point and two directions indicating the origin, "up" (Y axis) and "right" (Z axis). This command is similar to the Align View with Plane command above without the need to select a reference plane.
 
 

Sketch Plane View (Ctrl+Up Arrow)

Invoked By:View > Standard Views
Invoked By:Toolbar (Ctrl+Up Arrow)

Sketch Plane View (Ctrl+Up Arrow) Display the active sketch plane. It is useful for moving between views while editing a sketch and then returning to the active sketch plane.
