Question Title v14.00 Sketcher Release Notes

Invoked byHelp > Release Notes...

Use this command to display the Release Notes (i.e., Enhancements) for the current version of VX.  Follow the links below to review the release notes.

Sketcher

geometry
7070
(TM)Line tangent to spline inside sketch
User Access:
Same as 14129

User Impact:
Same as 14129

8444
Horizontal line
User Access:
All geometry and constraint commands in the sketcher.

User Impact:
When constraints are automatically added during geometry creation, the constraints may not be exactly satisfied. Starting with V14, the constraint system will be solved after the geometry is added so that the constraints will be satisfied. To avoid this immediate solve, use the "Delay Solve" checkbox on any of the constraint commands or dimension modify forms.

16621
(OG) VX get hang of handling large DWG import
User Access:
Sketch preferences

User Impact:
Working with a large file after it has been imported into the sketcher is now handled more efficiently. Turn off automatic constraint solving using the Sketch preferences. The only way the constraint system will then be loaded is with an explicit "Solve Current Sketch" command. The setting is local to the large sketch so that other sketches will continue to operate as usual.

16679
(CJW) Enhancement: Sketcher Stretch Entities
User Access:
Same as PCR 21396.

User Impact:
Same as PCR 21396.

20608
(CJW) Dynamically drag entities on sketch and update automatically the geometry
User Access:
Use the new Drag command on the Tools toolbar in the sketcher.

User Impact:
Geometry can be dragged and modified in the sketcher without the need of constraints.

22128
1 point horizontal and vertical lines
User Access:
The line command now has explicit horizontal and vertical line options. On both of these, the second point is optional. A one-point line uses the line limit commands for the size.

User Impact:
Horizontal and vertical lines are now easier to create.

constraint
7206
(TM)Tangent constrain on spline fails
User Access:
Same as 14129

User Impact:
Same as 14129

14129
tangent endpoint constraint
User Access:
The tangent constraint command on the constraint toolbar in the sketcher.

User Impact:
Users can fully constrain a wider range of models by constraining any two curves to be tangent to each other instead of just lines and arcs.

15997
Solve Current Sketch Button should turn Green when a Constraint is added.
User Access:
All geometry and constraint commands in the sketcher.

User Impact:
When adding constraints or geometry with the "Delay Solve" option checked, the Regen button will turn green to let the user know that a solve is recommended.

17120
If we stretch the sketch line, the constraint will be lost.
User Access:
Same as PCR 21396.

User Impact:
Same as PCR 21396.

18284
(CJW) Sketcher: Enhance handling of partially constrained geometry
User Access:
All constraint and dimension commands in the Sketcher.

User Impact:
Constraints and dimension changes produce more intuitive results in many underconstrained situations.

18609
Constrains on splines
User Access:
Same as 14129

User Impact:
Same as 14129

19382
We would like to keep the constraint while stretching at sketch.
User Access:
Same as PCR 21396.

User Impact:
Same as PCR 21396.

20062
enhancement to tangency constraint in sketcher
User Access:
Same as 14129

User Impact:
Same as 14129

20849
automatic regen inside sketch engine
User Access:
All of the constraint commands in the sketcher.

User Impact:
The constraint system will now automatically be solved after a constraint is added unless the user checks the "Delay Solve" checkbox on the constraint forms.

20850
dragging sketch and allow constraints to be maintained...
User Access:
Same as PCR 21396.

User Impact:
Same as PCR 21396.

21346
unexpected results while constraining a sketch
User Access:
Solving a sketch after adding constraints.

User Impact:
Underconstrained results in the sketcher are now more intuitive.

21396
move sketch entity while maintaining relationships
User Access:
Drag command on Tools toolbar in the sketcher

User Impact:
Users can now drag geometry in the sketcher while maintaining the constraints and geometry on the geometry.
other
22912
Replace the Stretch command on the RMB for the new Drag command
User Access:
Use the Object-Edit menu that is available with the Right Mouse Button to access the new Drag function.

User Impact:
New Drag functionality in the sketcher is available from the Object-Edit menu.
