Question Title Solid Verify Session

In this Article:

Solid Verify Session

(CAM Manager) Output > Verify Tab > Start Verify (CAM Level)

Use the Solid Verify Session Form to further define and run the Solid Verify session. It is displayed when the Start Verify button on the CAM Output Manager - Verify Tab is selected. See Basic Steps for Verifying Tool Paths in the CAM Output Manager section for basic procedures.

Forms and DialoguesSolid Verify Session Form

Solid Verify Session Form

  • Display operation list
This list contains the operations in the order that they will be verified. Each operation will be highlighted as it is verified. You can also select an operation and then check the box next to Verify active operation only (see below) to only verify that operation. Use the Organize tab of the CAM Output Manager to order and suppress operations for this list.

    Run the simulation.

    Step forward in the simulation.

Reset to the beginning of the session.

The first button rapidly advances to the end of the session (all operations).

Rapidly advance to the end of the current operation only.

Pause the session. This button is displayed alternately with the Run, Step Forward and Rapidly Advance buttons. In each case, it is used to pause the session.

Start the Solid Verify Session

  • Left Slider
Use the left slider to controls the speed of the simulation. Move the slider all the way to left to slow down the simulation.

  • Right Slider
The slider on the right controls the rendering interval of the simulation. Move this slider to the right to speed up the simulation. This can be used for very large or complex part simulations. Note that the simulation of cutter moment will not be smooth in this case as only one rendering interval will be performed during the entire simulation for most parts.

  • Optimized
Check this box to speed up the simulation session during QuickMilling operations.

  • Clash stop
Check this box to pause the simulation session if a clash occurs. A clash occurs when the tool or tool holder hits a fixture, when the tool holder hits the stock or when the tool cuts the stock with a RAPID feed rate. This pause did occur automatically. You can now disable it.

Forms and DialoguesVerify Tpath Options

Verify Tpath OptionsThe verify session is calculated from the tool path data contained in the CAM plan. No CL Data (see below) output files are required. This is the default method.

  • Skip suppressed operations
Check this box to skip any operations that are suppressed. Use the Organize tab of the CAM Output Manager to suppress and unsuppress operations for simulation. If this is done after a Solid Verify session is started, selecting this option will update the Display operation list (see above). You can then unselect this option is desired.

  • Verify active operation only
Check this box to only verify the active operation. The active operation is the one currently highlighted in the Display operation list (see above).

  • Tool Move/Stock Move
Use Tool Move to verify operations where the tool moves (the default). Use Stock Move for a more realistic simulation for those operations that include movement of the table.

Forms and DialoguesVerify File Data Options

Verify File Data OptionsUse this tab to output and verify CL Data or G/M Code files created from the active CAM plan.

  • CL Data, G/M Code
You can solid verify the current CL Data or G/M Code created from the active CAM plan. This is the same CAM output file created by VX using the Document tab of the CAM Output Manager and read by various post-processors. Enter a file name and then select CL Data or G/M Code. The data files will be created when the solid verify session is run.

Forms and DialoguesVerify Toolpath Data Tab

This tab displays the toolpath data for each cut as it is executed during the Verify Session. To isolate and view the toolpath data of a specific cut, use the Step Forward button to locate the cut, then view the data on this tab.

Forms and DialoguesOther Options

  • Options
Displays the Simulation Options Form. See below in this section.

  • Close
End the session and close the form

Automatic Collision Detection

General informationDuring Solid Verify, collision detection will occur automatically with all geometry contained in the features list for the operation including the tool shoulder, tool holder/attachments and stock/fixtures. See CAM Tips & Techniques to have VX CAM detect collisions with the tool body.

If a collision is detected, then the following will occur:

  1. VX CAM will pause the Verify session.

  2. The position where the clash occurred will be displayed.

  3. If you pick the Run icon to continue the simulation, the collided portion of the fixture will be cut and marked in red.

  4. Repeat steps 1-3 if another collision is detected.
