File > Search Paths...
Use this form to tell VX where to search for files referenced by assemblies, drawing sheets and CAM process plans. When you open a file, its path is added to the list. If you move a file that VX needs to reference, be sure to add the path to the list. VX searches the current directory first and then the default search directories in the order they are listed. The current directory is the one that VX is running from (i.e., your User Directory).
- Use the options to add, remove or reorder the paths in the list (see table below).

Pick OK to save the list or Cancel to close the form without saving it.
VX Search Path Form

Add Path
Displays the Directory Browser. Select a path and then pick OK. The path will be added to the top of the VX search path list.

Delete Path
Removes a selected path from the VX search path list.

Move Up
Moves a selected path up one sequence in the VX search path list.

Move Down
Moves a selected path down one sequence in the VX search path list.

Pick All
Select all paths in the list.

UnPick All
Unselect all paths in the list.

UnPick Last
Unselect the last selected path.

Import Paths
Imports a previously Exported *.paths file. If you have VX paths from another computer or file system, you can Export them and then Import them here so that the same paths are available to both instances of VX.

Export Paths
Export the current set of VX paths to a file of type *.paths.

Save Paths
Save all paths to the default configuration file.

Auto Save
When enabled, changes to the VX Search Paths list are automatic saved to the default configuration file.

Auto Search
If a component?s parent file has been moved or renamed, you are automatically given an opportunity to select a new location. You are also given the option to automatically search for the component in all files located in all directories listed in the VX Search Paths.

OK
Accepts the VX search path list and closes the form.

Cancel
Closes the form without saving changes to the VX search path list.
