Help > F1 Enabled
Use this command to enable/disable the
F1 function key. With the
F1 key enabled, pressing it will launch your web browser and load the
VXCADBase.com online knowledgebase. A version-specific copy of this knowledgebase is also available offline if you chose to install it when you installed VX.

If you check the box next to "
Live online help" from the
General Tab of the
VX Configuration Form (
Utilities > Configuration...), the live
VXCADBase.com version will be displayed if you have a live internet connection. If not, you can uncheck this box and your local offline copy of VXCADBase will be displayed.
With enabled, pressing
is the same as selecting
Help > Help Browser... VX ignores the F1 key if it is not enabled. Too often the F1 key is pressed by mistake instead of F2 or F3. Disabling the F1 key will bypass the activation of the help browser if it is pressed accidentally.
The check mark

symbol appearing to the left on the
F1 Enabled button indicates that it is enabled.
Keep your VX Software up to date!
If you are not under an annual software update plan and are using an older version of VX, you may experience problems using
Interactive Help (i.e., Help > Interactive Mode) when the "
Live online help" option is enabled from the
VX Configuration Form.
Why? Because during Interactive Help, VX command calls are sent to VXCADBase.com requesting specific articles for display. Because the live online knowledgebase is synchronized with the latest VX version, some command calls may have changed, others added or deleted.
This problem will ONLY occur during
Interactive Help. You can always select
Help > Help Browser or go directly to VXCADBase.com yourself and browse the latest version of VXCADBase.
